back to school

Last night we had a few friends over before school started to help ease any possible first day jitters....that was one of the goals anyway. It was super fun, pizza, fruit salad, ice cream sundays, lots of basketball (with Rick!), bike riding, and baseball. Our boys definitely have some good friends here, and we know there are more friendships to make as a new school year begins very soon:)

August Baseball...

Notice the slide as he approaches (lands on) second base and how fast he runs. He actually watches the batter to know when to run now without us telling him to go:)

At pitcher, grabs the ball, escapes the "dog pile" and runs to first to get the runner out.

BJ's new baseball team

BJ has his first game tonight with his new team (you'll remember he played back in June on a team in a neighboring town). I took pictures, but haven't downloaded them. He told me before the game that in 9 years he's going to be playing professional baseball. He made five outs by grabbing a grounder and tagging first or the runner. Rick took the boys after BJ's game to a local highschool summer tournament game playing locally and they are still there now...a few quiet moments for me at home:) We love baseball, and we know now that BJ LOVES it too!!!

Sarah and Charles, you'd be so proud to watch him in person...just one week after you've left. These kids just keep on amazing me!

Both boys to dentist today... no cavities!!!! Hooray!!!!
