First baseball game - FINALLY!!!

Last night CJ had his FIRST game ever in coach pitch and it was such fun! Although it had rained all morning, the sun came out for us and it was absolutely beautiful outside with very pleasant temps. CJ got to play first base, third base, and catcher, which was a real honor. He had three hits and made it to base on two of the three at bats. It's been nearly a year since we've been on a baseball team, and you know it was painful for us to wait:)

AND for BJ, there was a nice sand pit to play in, probably 20 feet in diameter. So he was totally happy playing with his new friend Chase. They were building a volcano together.

Tennis anyone?

All four of us have enjoyed playing a little tennis the last couple of weekends. The local junior high has several courts, with nice tall fences to keep the balls within reach. With temps in the 70s today, we spent about 45 minutes playing before someone, littlest J, decided he was hungry. R and I laughed much and were reminiscing (sp?) on the fun we used to have playing tennis with BD and MB at the Country Club! I'll try to post a picture later. clean fingers!!

This makes me laugh every tme I see it! Just to remind you, at our last soccer game one of the kiddoes shared a bag of cheetos with BJ and when he was finished, he wanted to get the orange off of his fingers. The mom in front of us said, "You can just lick 'em clean" and he tried it. You'll see when he's finished, he goes to show her!! Ahhh, yet another good reason to carry the wet wipes to a soccer game!

Soccer Monday Night...

We played what we think was our last soccer game for the season on Monday night. Our Tuesday night game was rained out and I don't think they'll reschedule it. This was our best game yet. The kids were far outscoring the other team, so our coach changed the game plan so that our team tried to pass to one another before someone scored. By the end of the game these kids looked like they had been really practicing this teamwork! It was so fun. Topher and Noah have become really good friends this soccer season. You'll see them working together on the field. The camera man for the Parks and Rec Center took pics of our team and the opposing team before the game started for next fall's brochure cover...we'll see. And there's a funny video of Benny cleaning the orange off his fingers after he enjoyed some cheetos that a friend shared with him. It's so funny.

Fun birthday with good school friends

Today CJ, BJ, and I went to a super fun birthday party for one of the girls in CJ's classes at school. Sweet Sophia actually just lives 1 1/2 blocks away from us and we never knew this until today! It was a beautiful, approaching hot, afternoon. Four girls, CJ and BJ, and a precious toddler there to celebrate and enjoy a good old fashioned pinata. Much to the boys' disappointment, the girls busted the pinata open before they even got a swing, but they handled it beautifully. CJ had been planning his mode of attack all week, but will have to wait for the next pinata I guess! Ice-cream cake followed by presants, and more outside play time. Simple and sweet. They were awfully kind to invite BJ and myself to join the celebration.

Spring baseball...finally!!

This week we FINALLY started our spring baseball. CJ is going to be playing coach pitch, which he is very excited about. You'll see in the video that his teammate kept overthrowing him in the game of catch...CJ probably ran more than anyone else out there. Believe it or not, Thursday was a day one might say was actually "hot" and people around town were laying out like kitty cats, trying to soak up some sunshine! They were everywhere! Shoes off, shirts off, stretched out on grass. Esp. on the university campus. I did chuckle a few times as I drove past them.

Fun week

We had a very, very pleasant week, both weatherwise and semester winding down. We were delighted to discover that buried beneath all our snow this winter were, apparently, some hearty bulbs, as we now have beautiful yellow and purple tulips I believe standing tall in our front flowerbeds. And our back yards are peppered with various colored flowers. Quite a treat. Our neighbors on both sides have beautiful red tulips and all throughout Moscow you'll find yellow, pink, red, and blends of these unbelievable treats!

And, I'll upload some pics of Benny wearing his new baseball shirt with his baseball pants. We found a teeball league that he's old enough for in Pullman, so in July he'll finally get to play!
